Cathedral Grove in MacMillan Provincial Park.

Highway 4 on Your way to Tofino runs right through Cathedral Grove Provincial Park.

Stroll through a network of Hiking Trails under the shadow of Huge Ancient Douglas-fir trees.
You will find some of the largest Douglas firs on Vancouver Island, one measuring more than 9 metres in circumference!
Most trees are more than 800 years old.

Hiking Trails in Cathedral Grove are on both sides of the highway that lead visitors through this coastal forest.
On the South side you will find the largest Douglas firs.
The North side of Cathedral Groove Park contains groves of ancient Western Red Cedar (Cameron Lake side of the Park)

In 1997 a Huge Storm raged through the MacMillan Provincial Park and toppled hundreds of trees.
These fallen trees provide nutrients for the next generations of Trees and plants.

Parking is Free.
Watch for Traffic when crossing the Road!
Park Size: 301 hectares
Smoking is PROHIBITED in the park.

From Hwy #19 and Hwy #19a take the exit to head west on Hwy #4 towards Port Alberni.
